Holiday Inn Express Clarke Quay Singapore hotel

While planning a trip it is very important to choose the right place to stay in: hotels, hostel, apartments or any other way of sleeping at night and relaxing after tours should be chosen according to the needs and aims of the trip. In Singapore we stayed in Holiday Inn Express Clarke Quay.

It is a very good hotel, which I would like to recommend you. If you go to Singapore book Holiday Inn Express Singapore Clarke Quay Hotel.

Holiday Inn Express Clarke Quay: location

The first very reason to choose Holiday Inn Express Clarke Quay was its location: right between Clarke Quay and China Town. The fist one is a perfect place to jog in the morning and to party at night. The latter is an authentic area to eat local food, to buy present and to feel Chinese culture of Singapore.

The hotel Holiday Inn is located some 3-5 minutes away from the MRT station Clarke Quay. So we were using both public transport and Uber to get around the city. If you take a taxi in Singapore it is less than 30 Singapore dollars to the airport and some 10-15 to the Marina Bay. So locations of Holiday Inn Express Clarke Quay is just perfect.

Price for a hotel in Singapore

Comparing the prices of the hotels in Singapore you can find very cheap and extremely expansive once. Usually while picking up a place to sleep, I combine the budget and the area I want to stay at.

Holiday Inn Express Clarke Quay gave us about 100 Euros per night for two people, with a possibility to change or cancel the booking. And what is more important the breakfast was included into the price!

In comparison with European hotels of the same price range for example in Rome, Prague, Paris or Barcelona, this Singapore variant was just the best possible. I still don’t understand why it has 3 stars now, but not the 4 stars it had when we were booking a room.

Rooms in Holiday Inn Express

The hotel was built in 2013, which means that it is a very modern and absolutely fresh building. I checked and it is really so! Every room in Holiday Inn Express Clarke Quay is nonsmoking and has a free Wi-Fi connection, LCD TV and of course the space is air-conditioned.

The bathroom is little, but it has everything and actually is very comfortable as well as the room. In case you left you toothbrush at home, you get can find it in the bathroom.

Beds are cosy, with snow white sheets.

Service

This is absolute true: the service in Holiday Inn Express Clarke Quay is the best I have ever experienced in my life. They speak fluent English, they always solve your problems (I lost the key-card in the swimming pool and wearing almost nothing went to the reception, where I got a new card within a minute), they know how to help with any issue (to buy stamps for you and to send your postcards) and they absolutely understand when after check-out you ask for a key to go to the roof to swim in the pool and to have a shower.

For someone these words may sound strange, because this is the work the crew of any hotel have to do, but my point is how they make it: friendly and easy.

Thumbs up!

Breakfast

Another amazing feature of Holiday Inn Express Clarke Quay is the breakfast. Why? Because they don’t ask you about the room you live in to mark the list of guests «invited» to the breakfast. Every guest of the hotel has breakfast included, which I think is absolutely right.

Singapore is a mixture of cultures and cuisines, so are the hotels. They are the places where people from all over the world find a shelter. To satisfy the tastes of all the guests, here in Holiday Inn Express Clarke Quay they cook and serve for breakfast dishes which meet the tastes of everyone.

Moreover, the time limits are very flexible and even if you oversleep and come at 10 a.m. (when the breakfast is supposed to be over) there is enough food and beverages to eat well. Again, in Europe it usually works vice versa: the early bird catches the worm.

Swimming pool

At the top of the Holiday Inn Express Clarke Quay you will find a 40-meter rooftop open air swimming pool and a little gym. The former works till 9 p.m. whereas the gym operates 24 hours. So if the breakfast breaks your diet (it may happen, believe me) you are free to burn extra calories doing some exercises.

After some kilometers in the swimming pool you can relax in one of two whirlpools.
